We've just lived through tornado day one here in Iowa. I am happy to report that we're safe and have only had a small amount of rain today - but as close as 5 miles from our house there were tornados. The pictures are from Parkersburg, IA. Friends of ours use to live there - thankfully they've moved to Waterloo and were safe tonight. Their house was destroyed.
One of the teachers at our church's Academy lost her home and all their belongings - in New Hartford, IA. What a sad day.
I'm never a huge fan of storms - especially not when they're so devastating so close to home. I'm glad it is the weekend and Mike was home today - being pregnant isn't making me any calmer or more rational about this type of thing!
