Bekahisms Again

These were recorded early in May...

*(Me) Take 25 more bites (since getting her to eat much of anything in 1-2 bites is nearly impossible)
(Bekah) I can't count that high, how about just two

*(Bekah) Where's my hot dog (hoping it's lost so she can be done eating)
(Me) In your hand
(Bekah) Oh... (rather disappointed it was so easily found)

Sofie is 1!!

On May 25th our little Sofie turned 1 - what a special girl she is.  She brings many smiles to our faces.
During her birthday week I recorded a few milestone memories -

Sofie...
...Crawls
...Stands (with and without assistance)
...Growls
..."Talks" back
...Climbs
...Jumps
...Loves to nurse
...Hates hairbows
...Shows off
...Eats a lot
...Figured out sippy cup on her own
...Loves hide-n-seek
...gives hugs
...gives kisses (complete with adorable sound effects)
...snuggles up close
...Rocks her baby

The Queen's Diamond Jubilee

We enjoyed watching Queen Elisabeth's Diamond Jubilee on tv a few weeks ago.  Bekah REALLY enjoyed seeing a REAL queen :)  I took a few notes of cute things that happened during our "girl time" together on the couch -

*(Bekah, super excitedly) - "The Queen's name is Elisabeth.  Did you know that mommy?"

*Sofie watched intently, and when the Queen would wave, Sofie would wave.  When the crowds would clap, Sofie would clap.  <3 her!

*(Bekah, after watching for a while) - "I'm off to make discoveries now.  Bye. I'm going to chop and stick a discovery" (with a chopstick in her hand)

Finding Our Way Home - Blogging for Books Review

Finding Our Way Home
A Novel
Charlene Ann Baumbich

I really enjoyed this book!  The two main characters couldn't be more different, although they end up having many similarities.  The book is set in MN which is fun since I'm a MN girl!  The plot was interesting, heart-wrenching and heart-warming.  Although there's no mystery or intrigue (really a favorite of mine - especially in contemporary literature) I highly enjoyed this story of renewal.  The story may not have overtly Christian messages (the women try to lean on their own strength, they have a "good luck charm" they put "faith" in, etc.) but it was light, clean, and easy to enjoy.
