Calm Before The Storm

Yesterday was another beautiful day - ALMOST hot in the sun actually. We still had the windows open, but had to run the fan as it was about 76 in the house! In the morning/afternoon between students and appointments I got one of our garden beds cleaned of the grass and ROCKS that were growing. Then I got enough pretty plants to fill about half of it (I didn't know how much I would need, so I went sparingly...) Oh so fun to get started on spring work. After Mike came home he helped me finish getting out some of the nasty weeds and rocks. So, the bed in front of half of our house is now prepared and ready to finish getting plants. The other side is still in despite need of some help, but we're going one step at a time.

After all of our hard garden work, we planned to head over to some friends' to enjoy a fire - until it started really storming! So, that changed to watching some tv. It was raining so hard that it was tough to see the road on the way over there - good grief! I'm glad my plants got some good rain though... I should see what the poor little things look like today.

So, due to that, I don't think I'll be able to finish the planting today. Although it's not hot or raining, it's just a little too muddy I think. Oh well - maybe later this afternoon?!? No, we had a lot of rain...
